Minute-by-Minute Blocktime Updates
The Blocktime app displays the current Bitcoin block height—the number of the most recently mined block on the Bitcoin blockchain. This height shows how many blocks have been added since the genesis block, acting as a key indicator of the network’s progress and security.
Although the server updates the block height every 30 seconds, the app itself refreshes this information once per minute to maintain stable performance and avoid hitting API rate limits. Given that a new Bitcoin block typically appears about every 10 minutes, updating once per minute strikes an ideal balance between timeliness and efficiency.
With this approach, the Blocktime app provides a consistently accurate, minute-level snapshot of the Bitcoin network—offering near real-time insights into the state of the blockchain with minimal delay.
